We are now looking for a business‑oriented Team Lead to join the Shrimp and Warm Water spp. Nutrition R&D team. In this role, you will work closely with enthusiastic researchers to develop the right solutions and contribute directly to Skretting’s innovation agenda for shrimp and high value fish. As Team Lead, you will lead the day‑to‑day activities of the team, ensure effective allocation of resources, support the development of people and capabilities. In addition, you will be responsible for a selection of innovation projects.

You will be part of the R&D Science leadership team and report to the R&D Director. The role is based at Skretting’s headquarters in Stavanger, Norway.

What you’ll do:
This is where you’ll turn strategy into action—leading people, projects, and priorities in a way that creates clear outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and supervise a team of experts, including recruitment and development of staff.
• Act as a member of the R&D Leadership Team, focusing on business priorities and strategy alignment.
• Play a key role in the development and functioning of Skretting’s innovation focus on shrimp and warm water fish, including compliance with authorities and certification standards, as well as budget responsibilities.
• Own the project portfolio of the research team, ensuring regular follow‑up and decision‑making together with dedicated team members.
• Develop and steer the implementation of innovative solutions that increase efficiency and strengthen our ability to produce novel products and concepts—while supporting existing ones.
• Participate in global teams and build strong networks between Skretting Innovation/R&D, other Nutreco companies, and external partners/suppliers. Communicate key improvement areas to relevant stakeholders—within Skretting and externally.
• Proactively drive the people agenda for the department.

Qualifications:

• PhD in a relevant discipline and at least 5 years of business and/or research experience.
• Strong understanding of the area of expertise.
• Proven record of innovative achievements within the area of expertise.
• Management experience is preferable, but not a requirement.
• Fluency in English is a prerequisite requirement. Proficiency in Norwegian, Spanish or Chinese languages would be an advantage.

• Innovative and results‑oriented, with the ability to build trust and goodwill among people with different backgrounds.
• Ability to lead through people and ensure focused and consistent performance.
• Flexible and proactive, with a hands‑on mind‑set.
• Excellent influencing and communication skills, both written and oral.
